In partnership with Prevention Point Philadelphia and the Norris Square Civic Association, Clinica Bienestar (Well Being Services), is one of the city’s first Spanish-speaking HIV clinics. The primary care clinic is supported by the extensive medical, case management and social services of Philadelphia FIGHT.
Clinica Bienestar is a comprehensive HIV primary care clinic founded in 2012 through a collaboration between Philadelphia FIGHT and Prevention Point Philadelphia (PPP). Clinica Bienestar is located within PPP’s Harm Reduction Services Center at 2913-15 Kensington Avenue. Clinica Bienestar staff are especially skilled in providing services to the Puerto Rican population in Philadelphia who are either actively using or have a history of using injection drugs and have received inconsistent HIV medical care. Dr. Laura Bamford, Medical Director of Clinica Bienestar and case management and outreach staff are bilingual in English and in Spanish. Clinica Bienestar provides HIV primary care services, Hepatitis C treatment, case management, harm reduction services, linkage to drug and alcohol treatment programs, and on site medication assisted treatment for opiate use disorder.
Clinic hours are Wednesdays between 9am and 4pm (walk-ins welcome).
During office hours Clinica Bienestar allows same-day scheduling as well as walk-ins for sick visits, while those who are able to adhere to appointments are encouraged to do so.
